The SMU women's basketball program continues its inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) by hosting UAPB on Monday at 7 pm CT inside Moody Coliseum. Fans can watch the game on ACCNX or listen on the radio through the SMU Mobile App.
SMU will look to continue its winning ways at home after defeating Lamar 56-54 in overtime last time out. The team is 3-1 at home this season. Â
Monday's game is Hispanic Heritage Night, which will feature a Mexican candy give away. The game is the second of a three-game homestand. The Mustangs conclude the homestand against UT Arlington on Friday (11/29), the day after Thanksgiving.
Guard Nya Robertson has been turning heads all season long as she enters the game ranked 9th in the NCAA and 3rd in the ACC in points per game (23.0). The star guard has scored over 20 points in four of the team's six games this season. She also ranks in the top five nationally in three other offensive categories.
Robertson is also 6 points away from 1,000 in her career and is on pace this season to be the first Mustangs to average over 20 points a game since Keena Mays averaged 21.6 ppg during the 2013-14 season. Â
Entering last weekend, the ACC had posted 57 victories through the non-conference portion of the regular season, as 10 of the league's 18 teams currently hold a positive scoring margin above 20.0 points. Five teams are ranked in the latest Associated Press (AP) Poll, as Notre Dame leads the way, remaining at No. 6 following its perfect 4-0 start. Duke is No. 14, North Carolina is No. 16, NC State is No. 20 and Louisville is No. 25. Stanford, Florida State and Miami are currently receiving votes.

Saturday's game will be the sixth overall meeting between SMU and Arkansas Pine Bluff. It will be the fourth straight season the team has played each other. Every game has been played in Moody Coliseum.
Last season the Lady Lions won 78-76. It was the first time in series history they had defeated the Mustangs. Chantae Embry scored 17 points and made three three-pointers in the game.
// HOME SWEET HOME
After defeating Lamar in their last home game, the Mustangs are 25-10 at home over the last three seasons. The Mustangs have won five of their previous six home non-conference games dating back to last season. SMU is 25-17 in non-conference games under Wilson.

// OVERTIME THRILLER
Last time out, SMU erased a 12-point third-quarter deficit and defeated Lamar 56-54 in an overtime. With the game tied late in overtime, forward Chantae Embry gave the Mustangs the lead and the eventual victory by making a layup through traffic with five seconds left in the game. After a very cold shooting first half, the Mustangs found life in the second as guard Nya Robertson scored 16 points, including draining a late three-pointer to give the Mustangs the lead late in the fourth quarter before Lamar tied the game and set it into overtime.
During the cold stretch, center Jessica Peterson kept SMU in the game and ended her night with her second career double-double, scoring 10 points and collecting a career-high 17 rebounds. She was the first Mustang to record 17 rebounds in a game since former Mustang Savannah Wilkinson did against Tulane in 2022. Peterson was also the only Mustang to play over 40 minutes in the game and tied her career high with four blocks.
// SEEING DOUBLE
Jessica Peterson currently leads the ACC in double-doubles with two after recording her second of the season against Lamar. She ended her night with 10 points and 17 rebounds and is the only Mustang this season to record a double-double.
Peterson recorded her first career and the Mustang's first double-double of the season against N.C. A&T. She finished the game with 16 points and 11 rebounds and joins Chantae Embry and Kaysia Woods as the only Mustangs on the roster to have recorded a double-double in their careers.
