Women's Tennis Wraps Up Fall Slate At TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas (SMU) – SMU women's tennis wrapped up their fall season over the weekend at the TCU JAE Foundation Fall Open, an event that featured 19 teams from around the country.

Seven Mustangs competed in the event, compiling 12 wins, including eight singles and four doubles victories.

Graduate student Arianna Stavropoulos and sophomore Caroline McGinley each went 2-1 in their singles matches with wins over players from Kansas and Maryland. Freshman June Bjork and Sophie Llewellyn both collected two wins in their doubles play.

"Our team's improvement this fall was showcased in our last event in Fort Worth," said Head Coach Jeff Nevolo. "It was great to see us competing at such a high level.  Our goal was to improve our toughness and team spirit, and we certainly did that.  We're excited for the challenges of the spring season and confident our improvement will continue."
