DALLAS (SMU) – The No. 37 SMU women's tennis team fell 4-3 to No. 40 Florida International on Sunday at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex. 

Taylor Johnson scored SMU's first point with a victory in straight sets over FIU's Ekaterina Khairutdinova on court two (6-3, 6-3). Johnson's win marked her second of the weekend. 

Next, Hadley Doyle took court three in another SMU straight sets win over Valery Gynina (7-6, 6-3) to tie the team score at two apiece.  

Drew Morris scored SMU's following point, beating No. 47 Oyinlomo Quadre (7-6, 7-5) on court one to bring the match to final tie (3-3). 

FIU would take the final point to win the match. 

Morris and Doyle teamed up for their second doubles win of the weekend, defeating FIU's Valery Gynina and Kristyna Hranacova 6-2 on court three. The Panthers would go on to claim the doubles team point following the other two matches.
