DALLAS (SMU) – No. 25 SMU Men's Swimming and Diving team fought hard before falling to ninth-ranked Texas on Friday at the Robson And Lindley Aquatics Center. The Mustangs lost 162-137 to the Longhorns while also honoring their seniors before the meet in a ceremony.

200 Medley Relay

The A relay team of Exum, Butler, Kovac, and Colin Feehery posted a second-place finish at 1:25.11 and the team of Jack Easton, Evan McCormick, Nico Sobenes and Chris Mykkanen took third, touching the wall at 1:27.03.

1000 Free
Jack Forrest picked up a runner-up finish with a time of 9:05.40, a new top time in the event for him this year.

200 Free
Hoagland dialed it up, picking up a win while setting the third fastest time in program history at 1:34.14 (NCAA B Standard).

Jack Moore also picked up a top-three finish, placing third at 1:37.15.

100 Back
Easton recorded a runner-up finish with a time of 47.83.  

100 Breast
Feehery (53.88) and Kristaps Mikelsons (53.97) went 2-3 in the event. Feehery set a new personal best time in the event this season.

200 Fly
Kovac made his mark again for the Mustangs, posting the second fastest time in program history at 1:42.15 (NCAA B Standard) while securing the victory.

Cotton Fields dialed up a special effort, taking second at 1:44.39 (NCAA B standard), fifth fastest time in program history.

50 Free
Butler scored a first-place victory in the event with a time of 19.86.

100 Free
Butler (44.0) and Leif Bouwman (44.29) went 2-3 in the event coming out of the first break of the evening.

200 Back
Exum threw out the ninth fastest time in program history on the way to a runner-up finish, coming in at 1:44.33 (NCAA B Standard), while John Culver was right behind, finishing third at 1:45.50.

200 Breast
Feehery (1:57.78) and Mikelsons (1:58.68) picked up a second 2-3 finish on the evening.

500 Free
Hoagland set a new program record while recording his second victory of the meet at 4:15.69 (NCAA B Standard).

100 Fly
Kovac broke his own top time, posting the second-best time in program history on the way to his second win on Friday at 45.86 (NCAA B standard).

200 IM
Hoagland turned in the fifth fastest time in program history while taking second at 1:45.33 (NCAA B Standard).

Fields was right behind his teammate in third at 1:47.66.

200 Free Relay
The Mustangs closed out the event strong, with the A relay team of Kovac, Butler, Sage Sungail and Feehery (1:17.91) and B team of Easton, Exum, Mykkanen and Hoagland (1:20.50) placing second and third, respectively.

Diving

1m Diving
Tyler Coffey placed fourth in the event with a score of 332.63, good for an NCAA qualifying total.

3m Diving
Coffey (328.58) and John Dymond (316.13) took sixth and seventh in the field.
