Box Score CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — No. 43 SMU women's tennis fell 4-2 in its first game of the weekend against No. 48 Charlotte in North Carolina. The Mustangs earned their two points from graduate student Lana Mavor in singles play and from SMU winning doubles play.
The match opened with doubles play. Taylor Johnson and Millie Skelton paired to take down Charlotte's Sara Suchankova and Shona Nakano, 6-4.
Drew Morris and Hadley Doyle clinched the doubles point for SMU, defeating Emma Wilkins and Lucie Petruzelova (6-3).
In singles play, Mavor earned the Mustangs their other point of the match. The Maine native earned her eleventh win of the year against Nakano. Mavor earned the win in a sweep — 6-3, 6-2
