ATHENS, Ga. (SMU) – SMU women's golf finished in a tie for seventh at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Saturday at UGA Golf Course.
SMU finished with one of the best rounds on the course in their concluding round. The Mustangs shot a 295, seven over, to finish the tournament in a tie for seventh place at 26-over par. The Mustangs moved up three spots on the leaderboard in the final round. Auburn won the event at one over par.
Mackenzie Lee recorded her 16
th career top 20 finish with a 12
th-place showing. She carded a 74 on the final round. Lee posted a 68, four-under par, in the middle round on Friday. She now has 19 rounds of par or better this season.
June Song recorded her second-best finish as a Mustang with a 34
th place showing. She carded a 72 in the opening round followed by rounds of 77 and 75.
Tess Davenport carded a 73 in round three to finish in a tie for 43rd place. Her best round of the tournament came in the middle round where she posted a one-under 71.
Emily Odwin shot a one-over 73 on the final day to move up the leaderboard into 48th. She finished the tournament at 11-over par.
Ellie Szeryk shot five-over 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 60th.
Next up, the Mustangs wrap up their regular season as they co-host the Veritex Bank Texas Showdown with Baylor. The tournament runs April 8-9 at Dallas Athletic Club.
