SMU rowing wraps up its regular season with competition at the Big Ten Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa at Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy in Sarasota, Florida.
BIG TEN INVITATIONAL
For the Mustangs, the event consists of three sessions where 1v4, 2v8 and 1v8 each compete. The first session starts at 7:40 am CT on Friday and will feature the Mustangs along with Rutgers, UCF, Michigan and Tennessee. The Friday afternoon session starts at 4:45 pm CT for SMU against Michigan State, Indiana and Notre Dame. The lone Saturday session will see the Mustangs compete against Ohio State, Michigan and Brown at 7:10 am CT.

Big Ten: No. 16 Indiana, Iowa, No. 9 Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, No. 12 Ohio State, No. 13 Rutgers, Wisconsin
Non Big Ten: Alabama, No. 5 Brown, UCLA, UCF, Clemson, No. 14 Duke, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, No. 15 Tennessee
THIS SEASON:
This season, the Mustangs have competed at the San Diego Crew Classic. The Varsity Four won the petite final by 18 seconds.
LAST SEASON:
The Mustangs finished in ninth at the 2023 NCAA Rowing Championships. SMU set an American Athletic Conference record by scoring 85 points at the Championships. The Mustangs made the petite final in all three boats for the first time in program history. SMU finished in 10th place overall in the varsity four. The Mustang's second varsity eight took home 11th nationally. The first varsity set a new program record winning the petite final to finish seventh place nationally.
SMU qualified for the Championships with its third straight AAC title. For the second straight year, SMU swept all four races at the Championship. Five Mustangs were selected first team all-conference as the Mustangs took the title by 28 points.
