Mustangs Compete In Friday Action At Big Ten Invitational

SARASOTA, Fla. (SMU) - SMU rowing competed at the Big Ten Invitational day one on Friday from Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy.
The Mustangs started the day with a trio of fifth place performances in the morning session. SMU finished behind Michigan, Tennessee, Rutgers and UCF. In 1v4 they crossed the line in 7:34.924, in 2v8 they finished in 6:54.313 and in 1v8 they recorded a time of 6:45.571.
In the afternoon session, they finished third in 1v4 crossing the line 5.596 seconds ahead of Michigan State with a time of 7:50.474. They finished fourth in the 2v8 (6:59.070) behind Indiana, Michigan State and Notre Dame. In the final race of the day, the Mustangs recorded a fourth-place finish in 6:50.364.
On Saturday, the Mustangs return to the water for three more races. They face Ohio State, Michigan and Brown starting at 7:10 a.m. CT.
