Rowing Set To Compete At San Diego Crew Classic

RESULTS AND SCHEDULE
SMU rowing competes in the San Diego Crew Classic on Saturday April 6 through Sunday April 7 at Mission Bay.
The Mustangs will see their first official action of 2024 in the Varsity 8+ Jessop-Whittier Cup Invitational in a heat against Washington and Washington State at 11:10 am CT / 9:10 am PT on Saturday.
SMU also competes in the Varsity 4+ Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup at 12:30 pm CT / 10:30 am PT on Saturday.
In second varsity eight, the Mustang are set to race in the Jackie Ann Hungness Trophy at 12:38 pm CT / 10:38 am PT on Saturday as well.
Each race will be contested in one of two heats with the top boats advancing to Sunday's final.
SMU competed in a pair of exhibition competitions to begin 2024. The team took on Iowa in Waco before returning to Dallas for a series of races against Texas and Oklahoma.
The Mustangs are the three-time reigning AAC Champion. They finished a program-best ninth at the 2023 NCAA Rowing Championships. The Mustangs are currently receiving votes in the latest edition of the Pocock Coaches Poll.
