KANSAS CITY, Mo. (United Soccer Coaches/SMU) – SMU Men's Soccer Team was picked 10th in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 following their NCAA Sweet 16 appearance last season.
SMU is one of ten Atlantic Coast Conference teams picked in the Preseason Top 25 and five ACC teams in the Top 10. Clemson earned the top spot after their NCAA Championship in 2023, followed by Notre Dame at No. 2, Stanford was picked fifth and North Carolina was sixth.
As part of their inaugural ACC campaign, SMU will face four Preseason top-25 teams in No. 20 Duke (Oct. 4), No. 5 Stanford (Oct. 11), No. 15 Wake Forest (Oct. 25) and No. 24 Louisville (Nov. 1).
The Mustang's season kicks off as they host Air Force at Washburne Stadium on Aug. 22 at 8:30 p.m. CT. The match is the first of 12 home matches this season.
