DALLAS (SMU) – The 22nd-ranked SMU men's swimming & diving team earned eight event victories during a double-dual sweep over Pitt and Utah on Saturday at Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center.
 
Prior to the meet, the Mustangs celebrated Senior Day, recognizing 12 impactful seniors and the impact they have made on the program.

200 Medley Relay
The Mustangs A relay placed second in the first event of the afternoon with the team of Jack Berube, Joe Rusnock, Russell Exum and Sage Sungail earning a time of 1:25.59. The B relay squad of Eric Stelmar, Kristaps Mikelsons, Nico Sobenes and Harold Lockhart joined them on the podium with a mark of 1:27.14.
 
Louie Fasani, Ben Longeway, Cameron Thompson and Connor McClintic recorded a time of 1:31.08.
 
1000 Free 
Laszlo Galicz took the first Mustang victory of the day with a time of 9:05.14. Jack Hoagland was right behind him, finishing the 1000 free stretch in 9:05.63 to place second. Hoagland continued on to swim the mile, earning an NCAA B cut time of 15:00.45.
 
Jack Forrest and Mark Van Eybergen also placed in the event, coming in fourth and sixth with times of 9:07.87 and 9:18.33, respectively.
 
200 Free
Chris Mykkanen earned a third-place finish with a mark of 1:36.52, and Harold Lockhart touched the wall in 1:36.63 to claim fourth. Jack Moore was right behind the pair after earning a time of 1:37.28 for fifth.
 
Michael Ripper also saw action in the event, placing ninth with a mark of 1:38.60.

100 Back
Current SMU school record holder Jack Berube threw down a time of 46.54 to claim the second Mustang victory of the day. Eric Stelmar joined him on the podium, touching the wall in 48.00 to take third.
 
Also seeing action in the event were Russell Exum and Rob McCall, who earned times of 48.87 and 49.82 to take sixth and 10th, respectively.

100 Breast
Kristaps Mikelsons earned a mark of 53.92 to place second, and Joe Rusnock joined him on the podium with a 54.45 effort to finish third.
 
Ewan Lonergan placed 11th after recording a time of 58.04.

200 Fly
Cotton Fields led the Mustangs after recording a time of 1:45.65 to place second. Nico Sobenes (1:47.25) and Ryan Peckham (1:48.87) placed fourth and sixth, respectively.

50 Free
In the final event before the break, Sage Sungail threw down a time of 19.88 to earn the victory. Lance Butler placed fourth with a mark of 20.29.
 
Also in the event were Connor McClintic (20.60) and Kaleb Ikbal (20.91), placing ninth and 11th.

3-Meter Diving
Luke Sitz earned another victory with a score of 364.55 to take the first diving event of the afternoon. John Dymond had a mark of 270.95 to come in sixth.

100 Free
Harold Lockhart and Sage Sungail placed second and third after turning in times of 43.76 and 44.53, respectively. Chris Mykkanen (44.77) and Lance Butler (45.00) earned fifth and seventh.

200 Back
Jack Berube completed the backstroke sweep by recording a time of 1:42.41, making the sophomore the second-fastest performer in Mustang history. Eric Stelmar joined him on the podium after touching the wall in 1:44.74 to take third.
 
Asher Good (1:46.36) and Rob McCall (1:48.27) placed fifth and seventh, respectively.

200 Breast
Earning second, Kristaps Mikelsons touched the wall in 1:58.11. Joe Rusnock finished in 2:02.14 to claim eighth, while Ewan Lonergan placed 10th with a time of 2:05.99.

500 Free
Jack Forrest threw down a time of 4:20.01 to take the victory for SMU. Laszlo Galicz touched the wall in 4:26.43 for fourth, while Mark Van Eybergen finished in 4:29.83 to take eighth.

100 Fly
Russell Exum earned a mark of 47.73 to claim fourth, while Nico Sobenes placed seventh with a time of 48.42. Kaleb Ikbal (49.35) and Ryan Peckham (50.02) finished 10th and 11th, respectively.

3-Meter Diving
Luke Sitz earned a second-place finish with a mark of 403.20. John Dymond came in eighth with a mark of 244.25.

200 IM
Jack Moore claimed a victory for the Mustangs in the final individual event of the day, touching the wall in 1:46.48. Cotton Fields (1:48.12), Asher Good (1:48.33) and Kristaps Mikelsons (1:48.85) finished fourth through sixth.
 
400 Free Relay
In the final event of the day, the Mustangs A relay of Sage Sungail, Lance Butler, Chris Mykkanen and Harold Lockhart placed first with a time of 2:53.34. The B relay quartet of Jack Berube, Michael Ripper, Jack Hoagland and Jack Forrest finished fourth with a mark of 2:56.91.
 
The C relay squad of Russell Exum, Connor McClintic, Eli Likins and Graham Hohnbaum touched the wall in 2:59.92 to take sixth.
