Laszlo Galicz took the first Mustang victory of the day with a time of 9:05.14.
Jack Hoagland was right behind him, finishing the 1000 free stretch in 9:05.63 to place second. Hoagland continued on to swim the mile, earning an NCAA B cut time of 15:00.45.

Chris Mykkanen earned a third-place finish with a mark of 1:36.52, and
