Svajda Qualifies For NCAA Singles Championship At ITA Regionals

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) — SMU Men's Tennis junior Trevor Svajda qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship after reaching the final round of the ITA Regional Championships in College Station, Texas, on Tuesday.
 
Svajda defeated Baylor's Connor Van Schalkwyk in the semifinal round of the championship (6-4, 6-2) to earn his ticket to the NCAA Singles Championship, which will be held in Orlando, Florida, Nov. 18-23.
 
This will be the junior's third NCAA Singles Championship appearance. He reached the round of 32 in the last two editions of the championships—in 2023, he became the first Mustang to advance in the NCAA Individual Championship since Johan Brunstrom in 2004.
