DALLAS (SMU) – Charles-Emile Brunet and
Jaylinn Mitchell of the SMU men's soccer team were invited to the 2025 Major League Soccer College Showcase as announced by the MLS on Tuesday.
Brunet and Mitchell are among the 45 top college players invited to the event, which will take place in Mesa, Arizona, from Dec. 10 through 13.
The MLS College Showcase is a four-day talent evaluation event that will give technical staff from MLS clubs an opportunity to scout top collegiate prospects in the nation ahead of the 2026 MLS SuperDraft on Dec. 18 at 1 pm CT.
Last season, alumni
Bailey Sparks and
Kyran Chambron Pinho were invited to the prestigious event. Sparks was drafted by Inter Miami and is currently playing for Inter Miami II.
Brunet was named All-ACC Third Team and was included on the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Second Team. He recorded six assists and a goal as a box-to-box midfielder in his first season with SMU.
Mitchell was included in the ACC Preseason Watch List and proceeded to record six assists while being SMU's most consistent attacker through the wings. He started all 20 matches for SMU.
In the 2025 season, SMU won its first ACC championship title in its second season as a member of the conference.
