LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (SMU) -- Kelis Jules has broken her own record again in the 60-meter hurdles. After taking down the long-standing previous record earlier this season, the freshman lowered her personal best time yet again on the second day of the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship, running a time of 8.44.
"I'm always excited to see a personal record," Jules said. "While not making it to the finals was disappointing, I know it's important to approach each race with gratitude and appreciate the opportunity to compete at such a high level."
Macey Hilton ran a time of 4:42.08 on the mile -- less than a second off her personal record time and the program record that she holds. She placed 16th.
In the long jump, Raelyn Roberson produced a season's best mark of 5.89 meters, placing 10th. Roberson said she is happy with the progress she has made this indoor season after coming back from an injury.
"I'm happy with the results today, and I was surrounded by so many people that support me," Roberson said. "I'm looking forward to continuing this progress in the outdoor season."
SMU will return to Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center tomorrow for the final day of the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championship.
