FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (SMU) – The SMU men's swimming & diving team had two individuals compete on day three of the NCAA Championships on Friday at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.

After picking up First Team All-America honors on 1-meter during Thursday's action, freshman
Luke Sitz recorded a score of 355.85 to place 17th on 3-meter, barely missing finals.

His best dive came by way of a score of 68.25 on a Reverse 3 1/2 Somersault Tuck. The Prosper native was just .7 points behind 16th-place finisher Joshua Thai of Cal.

During prelims of the 400 IM,
Jack Hoagland earned a 19th-place finish after touching the wall in 3:41.26. The graduate student was just under one second off of 16th place.

SMU is back on Saturday for the final day of the NCAA Championships in Federal Way. Hoagland will compete in the 1650 free at 5:45 p.m. CT, and a Mustang relay squad will see action in the 400 free relay during the finals session – beginning at 8 p.m. CT – to close out the meet.
