Men's Swim & Dive Announces 2025-26 Season

DALLAS (SMU) -- SMU Men's Swimming & Diving revealed its 2025-26 schedule on Wednesday, including six home meets and three regular-season ACC matchups.

The Mustangs begin the campaign with a home triple-dual meet against Incarnate Word, Oklahoma Christian and North Texas on Oct. 4. Last time out, SMU dominated the meet, defeating Oklahoma Christian 203-68 and Incarnate Word 182-88.

On Oct. 10-11, the Mustangs will host their annual SMU Classic, taking on conference rival Louisville, as well as facing LSU, Auburn and Drury. Three of the four opponents finished the 2024-25 season in the CSCAA Top 25 poll with Louisville ranking 11th, Auburn earning 17th and LSU claiming 20th. Drury claimed the 2024-25 Division II men's championship title.

Continuing the home battles against ranked opponents, SMU is set to face Texas A&M, who finished last season ranked 14th, on Oct. 24-25. Following the competition against the Aggies, the Mustangs will host Arizona and TCU in a home double-dual on Oct. 30-31.

On Nov. 19-22, SMU hosts its invite that will include ACC opponents Stanford and Miami as well as Hawaii, Drury, Air Force and Utah. The invite will end the Mustangs' schedule for 2025.

From Jan. 7-9, SMU will compete at the University of Tennessee's diving invitational. Staying on the road, the Mustangs will travel to Baton Rouge to face LSU on Jan. 24. The regular season action for the Mustangs is set to end Jan. 31 at an away meet against Utah. Last time out, SMU bested Utah 195-105, claiming eight events and six NCAA cuts.

For the second time ever, SMU will compete in the ACC Championships. The diving championships will take place on Feb. 15-17 in Atlanta, Georgia. At the same location, the swimming championships are being held on Feb. 17-21. Nine ACC teams finished in the top 25 in the nation, making the ACC one of the strongest swimming and diving conferences in the country.

SMU's Last Chance Meet will be held on March 4-7. The meet serves as a final chance for SMU athletes to qualify for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Divers who qualify will compete in College Station, Texas, at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships on March 9-11. On March 25-28, the NCAA Championships will take place in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Mustangs return sophomore Luke Sitz, who finished seventh in the NCAA finals on 1-meter. Sitz became the first SMU diver to earn First Team All-America honors on 1-meter in 28 years (Ali Al-Hasan, 1997). The men's swimming and diving team finished 35th nationally last season.
