FIRST ACC ROAD MATCHES
• No. 5 SMU Volleyball hits the road for the first time in ACC play this weekend as it travels to the Northeast for matches against Syracuse and Boston College. Â
• The Mustangs have won their last 11 ACC matches, the longest active streak in the conference, and look to continue that trend in matches three and four of a 20-match conference slate in 2026. Â
• SMU is a combined 7-0 against Syracuse and Boston College all-time. The Mustangs are a combined 2-0 in the Northeast against the two foes. Â
• SMU went 8-2 in road ACC matches last season. Â
• The Mustangs are 2-1 in true road matches this season, with their only loss coming in five sets to now No. 9 TCU. Â
• Under Coach Erger, SMU is 44-13 in true away matches and 17-3 in ACC road contests. The 17-win mark ties a conference best with Pittsburgh. Â
BEAUFORD, DAVIS ACC WEEKLY HONORS Â
• Redshirt Freshman setter Hannah Beauford has earned ACC Setter of the Week and sophomore outside hitter Suli Davis has been named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday (Sept. 28). Â
• The duo helped lead the Mustangs to a 2-0 start to ACC action, including a 3-0 sweep of preseason conference favorite No. 12 Stanford on Friday night. Â
• Beauford paced the Mustangs to a .380 hitting percentage this week, tied for the best clip in the conference and fifth-highest in the nation. The first-year starting setter led the ACC in assists per set with 11.71. Â
• The Prosper, Texas native dished out 39 assists, plus five digs and three blocks, in a three-set win over No. 12 Stanford, leading the Mustangs to a season-best .407 team hitting efficiency. Beauford followed that act with 43 assists and four digs against Cal on Sunday. Â
• Davis earned her second ACC weekly honor of the season on Monday, after averaging 6.71 points and 6.29 kills per set in wins over No. 12 Stanford and Cal to start conference play. • The Euless, Texas, native had a season-best 26 kills on a .308 percentage against Cal on Sunday. Against No. 12 Stanford, Davis finished with 18 kills on a .342 clip. Â
FIRST IN THE NATION Â
• Junior middle blocker Natalia Newsome leads the nation in hitting percentage, terminating at a .560 clip for the season. Â
• The .560 hitting percentage, if held for the remainder of the season, would be an NCAA regular-season record. Florida State's Taryn Knuth hit .549 back in 2020 (123K, 11E, 204TA). Â
• Natalia Newsome is the most efficient middle in SMU Volleyball history and in the country. Over her career, she is hitting at a .483 clip. Â

• Suli Davis has been one of the top point scorers not only in the ACC but in the country. She enters the week ranked top-15 nationally in five offensive categories: Â

ACC PLAY DOMINANCE Â
• The Mustangs enter Friday's match on an 11-match ACC winning streak, the longest active streak in the conference. Â
• The 11-match run is the second-longest streak in the Power Four and ninth-longest in the country entering the week. Â
• The last loss for the Mustangs was a five-set loss on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at No. 21 North Carolina.Â
STEADY AT NO. 5 IN THE RANKINGS Â
• SMU Volleyball remains No. 5 in the latest AVCA-Taraflex Division I WVB Poll (Sept. 28, 2026) after a 2-0 week with wins over No. 12 Stanford and California. Â
• It is the highest ranking in program history and the Mustangs have held that mark now for three weeks in a row. Â
• SMU has been ranked by the AVCA in 34 consecutive polls dating back to week three of the 2024 season. Â
• The Mustangs have been ranked in the top 10 for 10 straight regular-season polls and 22 out of the 34 poll rankings in program history. Â
WEEK 4Â NOTABLES Â
• SMU earned its fourth sweep of the season, dominating No. 12 Stanford in Moody Coliseum last Friday. Â
• The Mustangs hit a season-best .407 against the Cardinal, led by Natalia Newsome, who was near perfect on the night with kills on 10 of her 11 swings for a .909 hitting percentage. Her percentage is the second-highest individual clip in program history with 10 or more attempts. Â
• SMU held Stanford to season lows in every major statistical category but aces, including a season-low .103 hitting percentage. Â
• SMU hit .400 or better for the first time since Central Arkansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last season. The Mustangs hit .618, an NCAA Tournament record for a three-set match. Â
• Suli Davis notched a season-high 26 kills, hitting .308 against the Golden Bears on Sunday. Davis reached the 20+ kill threshold for the fourth time this season in the four-set win. Â
• The Mustangs (.358) hit over .300 for the fifth time this season and have done so in all their home matches so far this season. Â
• SMU's middles had another efficient outing together. Natalia Newsome and Favor Anyanwu combined for 18 kills on a .630 clip with only one error on 27 total swings. Â
• Starting libero Victoria Harris has reached double-digit digs in 11 of the 12 matches so far this season. Â
• SMU improves to 52-0 when hitting .300 or better under Erger. Â
• SMU improved to 35-7 in ACC matches since joining the league in 2024. Â
SMU VS. SYRACUSE Â
• Friday's match against Syracuse is the sixth in the series between the two programs. Â
• Mustangs are a perfect 5-0 against the Orange. Â
• Five wins are tied for the most wins against current ACC members for SMU. The Mustangs are also a perfect 5-0 against Florida State. Â
• The Mustangs swept the Orange in both matches since joining the ACC. Â
SMU VS. BOSTON COLLEGE Â
• Sunday's meeting with Boston College is the third meeting all-time between the two programs. The Mustangs lead the series 2-0 against the Eagles. Â
• SMU swept BC in last season's meeting in Dallas, but the last time the Mustangs traveled to Chestnut Hill, the Eagles took the Mustangs to a fifth set Â
