FORT WORTH, Texas (SMU) – SMU women's golf holds ninth place at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational with
Celine Chen and
Emily Odwin sitting in the top 20.

The Mustangs were slated for two rounds during the opening day of the invitational. Facing a field of 12 of 13 top 50 teams including six of the top nine, SMU shot 16-over in round one to occupy 10
th place after half a day. The team shot 10-over in round two to move up into ninth. The Mustangs sit ahead of three ranked teams in No. 6 Auburn, No. 22 Arizona and No. 41 TCU.
Chen and Odwin lead the way at five-over par. They both carded a round of 73 in round one followed by 72 in round two. Chen played 17 holes in a row bogey-free stretching across rounds one and two. Odwin will be in search of her 18
th career top 20 finish on Tuesday while Chen goes for her eighth.

Grace Jin and
Kirra St-Laurent are tied at eight-over par. The duo sit in 46
th place. They each tallied three birdies on the day.
Mackenzie Lee sits in 59
th at 10-over par.

Competing as an individual,
Yoonjeong Huh looks for her best finish of the season on Tuesday as she sits in 34
th place. She carded rounds of 73 and 74.

The Mustangs tee off at 8 a.m. from Colonial Country Club on Tuesday. They will be paired alongside golfers from Mississippi State and Oklahoma State.
