Caroline McGinley from the SMU women's tennis team was named to the 2026 Academic All-District as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday. It is the second straight season that McGinley has reached CSC All-District status.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Â
CSC All-District team members meet the following criteria: At least a sophomore athletically and academically, owns at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must compete in 75% of the team's competitions.
The junior was selected as a CSC Academic All-America® finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 3. Â
McGinley, a Finance major in the Cox School of Business and Economics minor, led SMU with 23 doubles wins across the 2025-26 academic year. Ranked as high as No. 10 in the ITA in doubles during dual match play, McGinley went 20-2 in doubles, after winning just 11 doubles matches during the spring in her first two seasons on the Hilltop.
McGinley went 8-2 against ranked doubles teams, including wins over No. 1-ranked Roisin Gilheany and Gloriana Nahum of Oklahoma in the second round of the NCAA Championships and No. 3-ranked Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang of Virginia in the regular season.
From going 4-5 in dual match singles as a sophomore on courts five and six, McGinley was bumped up to court three, where she had a career season, going 11-5 in her junior campaign. She clinched six matches for SMU in the spring, double the amount of any other player on the team.
