DALLAS (June 18, 2026) – SMU Athletics has named Dr. Mo Brown Associate A.D. for Strategic Marketing and Fan Experience. Brown spent the past five years in marketing at South Carolina, including the last two as Senior Director of Marketing.

With the Gamecocks, Brown spearheaded marketing and gameday experience efforts for women's basketball and Hall of Fame head coach Dawn Staley. South Carolina led the nation in attendance during multiple seasons when her responsibilities included overseeing in-venue fan experience, digital marketing, community engagement, advertising and social media. In 2022 and 2024, she worked with City of Columbia leadership to coordinate NCAA championship celebration parades.

Brown also served as the on-field contact at South Carolina football games from 2021-25, managing all game presentations and on-field promotions. During her time with the Gamecocks, she directed plans for several special events, including an exhibition between the Las Vegas Aces and the Puerto Rico National Team, and a Paris Sendoff preseason event in coordination with ESPN ahead of the women's basketball team's trip to Paris, France. During her first two seasons in Columbia, she also directed marketing efforts for volleyball and softball.
Her career in athletics marketing includes stops at Texas A&M (2021), Yale (2020-21), Boise State (2018-20) and LSU (2015-18), where she served as a student assistant.
Brown earned a Doctor of Education degree in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor in 2023. She also holds a master's degree in Athletic Leadership from Boise State (2020) and a bachelor's degree in Sport Administration with an emphasis in Sport Commerce and Leadership from LSU (2018).
