DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU women's soccer program continues non-conference play by hosting (rv) Texas Tech on Thursday inside Washburne Stadium.

The game will kick off at 7 pm CT. Fans can enjoy free admission to all SMU women's soccer regular season matches. The game will air on ACCNX, and fans can also follow along via live stats found here.

SMU will look for its third straight victory after remaining unbeaten at home this season, defeating HCU 2-0 and Southern 4-0 last week. The Mustangs have outscored their opponents 13-1 at home this season and recorded four shutout victories.

Brooke Bunton leads SMU in goals with three after recording her first career brace against UIW. Bunton and Kaylee Noble are tied for the team lead in total points with six. Bunton ranks tied for 11th in the ACC in goals scored.

Kaylee Noble joined Bunton as the only Mustangs to record a brace this season as she scored twice in SMU's win over Southern. It is the first time SMU has had two players record back-to-back braces since 2023 (Rose vs Tulsa, Balata vs FAU).

Noble leads SMU in total shots with 20 and in shots on goal with 11. She ranks seventh in the ACC in total shots and fourth in the conference in shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Aubrey Brown has led SMU to four shutouts this season, which is tied for the most by any goalkeeper in the ACC and second in the NCAA. The team has recorded back-to-back home shutouts twice this year.

The Mustangs added 17 newcomers to their 2026 roster, 10 freshmen and seven transfers. Head coach Nicole Nelson also brought in two new assistant coaches, Chassion Griggs and former SMU graduate assistant and men's soccer player Nick Petrucelli.

SMU returned 10 players, including midfielder Brooke Bunton, who was called up to the USWYNT U-18 team five times during the offseason and Libby Jannereth, who was picked by TopDrawerSoccer as SMU's ACC Breakout Candidate this season.
 
// FRESHMEN STANDOUTS

• Freshmen Julianne Richter and Londynn Hagan have been shining bright for the Mustangs. 
• Richter is tied for second in the ACC and eighth in the NCAA in total assists with four. Richter is only one of eight players in the conference to record four assists this season.
• Hagan is one of four Mustangs to score multiple goals this season (Bunton, Parkhurst, Noble). She is third on the team in points with five and is coming off scoring her second goal of the season against HCU.

// SETTING THE SCENE

• Sunday's match will be the eighth time SMU and TTU have faced each other. SMU leads the series 5-1-1 and is unbeaten at home versus Texas Tech (3-0-1).
• The Mustangs will look to extend their three-game winning streak and remain unbeaten at home (4-0-1). SMU began last season 5-0-0. With the win on Thursday, it would be the longest home unbeaten streak to begin a season since 2016, when the team went 6-0-1 at home before its first loss.
• SMU has scored 16 goals this season and 11 in its last three games including scoring four against Southern and five against UIW. The five were the most goals scored in a game since SMU beat Texas Southern 6-0 in 2024.
• The Mustangs rank seventh in the ACC in goals (16), sixth in saves (15), and sixth in assists (14). SMU has had 10 players score a goal this season, with four scoring multiple goals.

// LAST TIME OUT

•  SMU jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 2-0 victory over Houston Christian.
• The Mustangs controlled the pace of play for the majority of the night, outshooting Houston Christian 20-4. SMU scored early off the foot of Maleeya Martin, while Londynn Hagan added the insurance goal late in the first half.
• The Mustangs stayed within the attacking zone all night, as SMU tallied seven shots on goal to HCU's one. Kaia Samuelsen Elverum, Zoe Parkhurst, Brooke Bunton, Martin and Kaylee Noble contributed at least two shots, with Noble with a team high of five.
