SMU won two events and earned a third place finish at this weekend's Sprint Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State.
Mustapha Raifak and Adam Merritt both won events at the two-day meet. Robbie Stevens earned a third-place finish and Bianca McKell a fourth-place finish. The foursome was SMU's only representatives at the meet.
Raifak won Friday's men's high jump competition with a jump of 2.10 meters (6-10.75 feet), Merritt took top honors in the men's 800 meter run Friday with a 1:51.26 and Stevens ran 48.02 in Saturday's final of the men's 400 meter dash to place third. His 48.08 preliminary heat qualified him sixth for the final.
McKell placed fourth in Saturday's women's high jump competition with a jump of 1.72 meters (5-7.75 fee).
The SMU track & field team is off this weekend and will next compete at the Golden Spike Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., Feb. 11-12.
