DENVER, Colo. (SMU) -- SMU sprinter and football standout Kevin Garrett has been named the Western Athletic Conference Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the WAC announced Monday, May 13.

Garrett, a junior from Brazoia, Texas, finished fourth in the 100m at the Texas A&M All-Comers Meet with a time of 10.44. The mark is the best this season by a Mustang and is the fifth-best in school history. His time is also the fourth-best in the WAC this season heading into the WAC Championship.

Garrett?s next event is in Houston, Texas, at the WAC Championship, May 15-18.
