Volleyball Drops C-USA Contest to UTEP 3-0

The SMU volleyball team fell to UTEP on Friday evening 3-0 (30-28, 31-29, 30-19) in Conference USA volleyball action in El Paso, Texas. Kelly Larkan paced the Mustangs (11-15, 7-7 C-USA) with 12 kills and added nine digs.
Freshman Natalie Peters was also tough for the Mustangs, tallying 10 kills and adding a game-high six blocks. Rachel Giubilato helped the SMU cause with eight kills, 12 digs and four blocks, while Stephanie Bennett chipped in with four kills and four blocks.
Stefanie Kons directed the Mustang offense with 38 assists and recorded two kills. Ashley Zener posted five kills and two blocks in the loss and Jennette Evanco led the Ponies with 19 digs.
The SMU volleyball team concludes the regular season on Sunday afternoon when they battle Tulane in College Station, Texas, at 1 p.m.
