Bloomington, Ind. - The SMU men's soccer team was shut out by top-ranked Indiana Sunday afternoon by the score of 4-0 in Bloomington, Ind., as part of the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic. SMU falls to 0-2 on the season while the Hoosiers improve to 2-0 in 2005.
Indiana scored three goals in the first 21 minutes of the game and it proved to be too much for the Mustangs to overcome. SMU was outshot by the Hoosiers, 17-8, but each team took five corner kicks during the course of the contest.
SMU representatives on the Classic's All-Tournament team include senior midfielder David Chun and freshman midfielder Jeff Harwell.
The Mustangs open their home portion of the season this coming weekend, hosting the SMU Radisson Hotel Classic. Friday's games feature New Mexico vs. South Florida (5:00 p.m.) followed by West Virginia vs. SMU (7:30 p.m.). On Sunday, New Mexico takes on West Virginia at 1:00 p.m. followed by SMU vs. South Florida at 3:30 p.m. All games will take place at Westcott Field on the campus of SMU.
