Lubbock, Texas - The SMU women's track and field squad wrapped up competition at the Wes Kittley Invitational Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.
In the 400-meter dash, sophomore Nnenna Ejesieme placed ninth with a time of 1:01.57 while teammate Chelsea Wells finished in 11th place with a mark of 1:02.16. Tangela Feemster placed 18th with a time of 1:06.47. Nine Mustangs competed in the one-mile run, with junior Ilyssa Pettigrew topping SMU in this event, placing fifth with 5:11.33. Sierra Anderson finished in 10th place with a time of 5:25.57. Other Mustang finishers include Jessa Simmons (11th place - 5:26.04); Jessica Jackson (12th place - 5:27.76); Magan Moore (14th place - 5:36.43); Rachel Barber (16th place - 5:41.46); Kelsey Howard (17th place - 5:46.31); Krystal Rodriguez (19th place - 5:48.76); and Sarah Hardwick (20th place - 5:57.95).
In the high jump, senior Alesha Stegemoller posted a mark of 1.68 meters - good for third place. In the shot put event, freshman Meagan Berg placed eighth with a throw of 11.77 meters. Teammate Christina Mueller took 10th place with a throw of 11.36 meters. Andrea Kvetova threw a mark of 10:35 meters (T13th place) while Sarah Siddens posted a mark of 9.42 meters - good for 16th place.
SMU's next event takes place on Feb. 2-3 with the Oklahoma Sooner Invitational in Norman, Okla.
