Candice Davis Named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas (SMU)--Sophomore libero Candice Davis earned her fifth career C-USA Defensive Player of the Week nod on October 1, her second of the season.
Davis set her second career-high in as many weeks, compiling 30 digs in four games against UTEP last Friday night. She combined for 47 digs on the weekend against UTEP and Tulane, averaging an outstanding 6.71 digs per game. Davis currently leads C-USA in digs with 5.18 per game.
As of 9/30, Davis is ranked 55th in the country in digs, while the Mustangs as a team rank 12th, averaging 19.05.
