DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team took two on Sat., March 31, at Bent Tree Country Club as they defeated UALR, 6-1, and PVAMU, 5-1.

The Mustangs defeated UALR this afternoon, 6-1. SMU took three wins in doubles as Federico Murgier and Alex Skrypko posted a, 8-3, win over Dinko Halachev and German Perez at No. 1. Oivind Alver and Robin Fahgen paired for a, 8-5, win over Edson Abrao and Rain Roigas at the No. 2 spot. David Kuczer and Adolfo Solares took the, 8-6, decision over Marko Ballok and Yoann Chartron at No. 3.

In singles, Kuczer took the three set win over Roigas at No. 2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6, while Alver played strong at No. 3 to defeat Abrao, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4. Murgier beat Ballok in straight sets at No. 4, 6-3, 6-4, and Fahgen posted a straight set win over Galindo at No.5, 6-3, 6-3. Solares powered through three sets to take a, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, win over Nunez at No. 6. Skrypko was unable to over turn Halachev at No. 1 as he fell, 7-5, 2-6, 6-1.

The SMU/PVAMU match began with singles play first as the Mustangs defeated PVAMU, 5-1. Solares quickly took care of John Rott at No. 4, 6-0, 6-2. Chris Hooshyar topped Kudzwi Chirrdza, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 while Skrypko defeated Andy Narido, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1. Daniel Gonzalez played at No. 6 for the Mustangs as he took the, 6-3, 6-2, decision over Jason Hubb. Ryan Hooker powered past Jose Garcia at No. 5, 7-6, 6-2, while Kuczer posted a, 6-3, 6-3, win over Nicolas Bateman at No. 2 singles.
