Varsity Eight Places Third At Aramark South/Central Region Championships

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (SMU) - SMU rowing took one varsity eight team to the Aramark South/Central Region Championships this weekend at Oak Ridge, Tenn. The crew of Krystal Kulka, Meg Gaab, Alex Austin, Kelly McKinley, Ellen Cieszkiewicz, Amanda DeGroff, Jenise Dornenburg, Danielle Nehf and coxswain Liz Hagerty competed in two heats yesterday to advance to the D Finals this morning.

Through yesterday's competition, the Mustangs advanced to the Varsity 8 D Final this morning. SMU finished third with a time of 6:59.51 in a heat against Eastern Michigan, Kansas St., Cincinnati and Murray St.

This competition concludes the regular season for the SMU rowing team.
