Wayzata, Minn. (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team posted the second-lowest team score of the day at the Gopher Invitational at the Spring Hill Golf Club on Sunday, carding a 295 to move up to sixth place in the final standings.

Arwed Fischer was the low man of the day, shooting a 1-under 71 to finish tied for 21st at 225. James Minahan, who shot 71 on Saturday, was SMU's low man for the tournament, finishing tied for 11th at 221 for 54 holes. Ben Tewes also had a good final 18, shooting 74 to finish at 226 and in 23rd. Draegen Majors (232) and Kelly Kraft (234) rounded out the SMU team in 39th and 47th places, respectively.

SMU finished at 898 for the weekend and Lamar won the team event at 868. Casey Clendenon of Lamar and Danny Zimmerman of Wisconsin tied for medalist honors at 1-under 215.
