Lubbock (SMU)- SMU runner Sierra Anderson won the 5,000m run in 18:18.03 at the Texas Tech Invitational as the SMU track team opened their indoor season on Friday, Jan. 18.
SMU also got strong showings from Samantha Means, who took third in the 1,000 run in 3:08.77, its distance medley relay of Ilyssa Pettigrew, Alexandria Smith, Kelsey Howard and Silje Fjortoft, which took second in the DMR in 12:34.52, and Lauren Kuhner, who took second in the weight throw at 15.80m.
The Mustangs will be competing in the second day of the Invitational tomorrow starting at 10:30 a.m. with field events.
