Lafayette, La. (SMU) - SMU freshman Kelly Kraft carded a final-round 70 to win the Louisiana Classics Golf Tournament at the Oakbourne Country Club on Tuesday, March 11. Kraft's three-round total of 5-under 211 was three shots better than runner-up Jordan Utley of Richmond. As a team, SMU jumped up to finish second at 11-over 875, trailing only champion Colorado.
The remaining SMU golfers notched solid scores, with Scott Barton's 222 heading the bunch in 22nd place. James Minahan and Dan Kleckner both finished at 224 to tie for 34th, while Ben Tewes' 225 placed him 39th.
