IRVING, Texas (C-USA/SMU) - SMU junior Kate Ackerson was one of six women's golf student-athletes named to the 2008 Conference USA All-Academic Team on Friday, April 11. It was the second such honor for the Allen, Texas, native, as she was also a 2007 All-Academic pick.

Joining Ackerson were Abby Bools, Rachel Larson, Michaela Cavener, Tara Goedeken and Deborah Martinez.
These six and many other outstanding student-athletes are gearing up for the 2008 Conference USA Women's Golf Championship, which will be held April 14-16. This year's 54-hole event is being hosted by UTEP at the Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas.
