Women's Golf Adds Ruengmateekhun

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team has signed Amy Ruengmateekhun to a National Letter of Intent, Head Coach Todd Selders announced today. Ruengmateekhun won the TAPPS State Championship in 2007 & 2008 and was runner-up in 2009. She is also a two-time Dallas Morning News Player of the Year.
"We're excited to add a player of Amy's caliber to the team," said Selders. "Signing her is a tribute to all those involved in the recruiting process at SMU. She should be an immediate impact player for us next season."
Ruengmateekhun, from Garland, Texas, is the 29th-ranked prep senior in the nation and is ranked fourth in the Texas among seniors according to GolfWeek. She won the American Junior Golf Association's Alabama event and has finished in the top-five at AGJA events eight times. She has also been a sectional qualifier for the U.S. Women's Open in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
