Mustang Golf Teams Volunteer With The First Tee of Dallas

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's and women's golf team got in the Thanksgiving spirit this week, giving back to the community and volunteering with The First Tee of Dallas. The event, which was held at Tennison Golf Course in Dallas, allowed the teams the chance to demonstrate fundamentals and play a four-hole scramble with the participants.
The First Tee of Dallas, founded in 1997, provides young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character-education, a core set of life enhancing values such as honest, integrity, respect and perseverance.
Kids of ages 7-17 are eligible. They hold clinics and tournaments and provide free instruction through city PGA Professionals and volunteers. They have national events as well as they have a big pro-am at Pebble Beach Golf Course.
"It was a lot fun and we will be doing it throughout the year," said SMU women's coach Todd Selders.
