DALLAS (SMU) - SMU's James Kwon finished third at the John Burns Invitational at the par-72, 6,916-yard Leilehua Golf Course in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, this week, carding a three-round total of 9-under 207. Kwon was just two shots out of first place. As a team, SMU finished ninth in the 17-team field at 854.
Kelly Kraft's 4-under 212 had him tie for 19th, while Max Buckley tied for 42nd at 216. Ben Tewes had a tough final round 77 and slipped to 60th at 220, while Draegen Majors was 73rd at 225.
James Erkenbeck of New Mexico took medalist honors at 11-under 205, and Texas A&M won the team event at 836.
