Bennett Posts Pair Of Summer Wins

DALLAS (SMU) - Junior Alexis Bennett is having a great summer on the links, posting two victories th last two weeks, winning at the Rock River District Golf Association's tournament in Beloit, Wis. and at the Ballard Memorial in Rockford, Ill.
Bennett won the first tournament on June 11, when she claimed a four-stroke win by posting a 3-over-par 74 at the Country Club of Beloit to win the Rock River tournament. Bennett's victory at the 102-woman tournament moved her into first place in the RRDGA's Golfer of the Year standings.
On June 21, Bennett came back to win the Ballard Memorial at Sandy Hollow, posting a 2-under 149 in the two-round tournament. Bennett was down a stroke to Northern Illinois' Brittany Atterbury entering the final nine holes, but came back to win by two strokes. Bennett's win kept her in first place in the Golfer of the Year race, where she now leads Atterbury by 13 points.
