Women's Golf Signs State's Top Player

DALLAS (SMU) - Taylor Moreno, the No. 1-ranked player in Texas according to GolfWeek, has signed a National Letter of Intent with SMU, Head Coach Todd Selders announced today.
Coached by Chuck Nowland at Austin Westlake High School, Moreno was a part of Westlake's 2010 5A Girls State Championship Team and placed fifth individually. She also won the 2010 AJGA Houston Junior, the Falconhead Junior Championship and the Greyrock Junior Championship and qualified for the 2010 U.S. Junior Girls Championship, reaching Match Play.
"(Assistant Coach) Emily (Milberger) and I are very excited about signing Taylor," said Selders. "She will bring a tremendous work ethic and winning attitude to the program. She is dedicated to improving her game and will be a great addition to this team."
