Series History: Mustangs lead 18-7
Last Matchup: The SMU volleyball team beat UTEP in straight sets (25-22, 25-15, 25-23) on Sunday afternoon at Moody Coliseum.SMU's outside hitters propelled the Mustang offense to a .281 attack percentage. Kathryn Wilkerson (9 kills), Dana Powell (11 kills) and Jessica Oliver (10 kills) all turned in impressive performances.

Last Matchup: Behind an outstanding performance from Jessica Oliver, the SMU volleyball team defeated the UCF Knights in five sets (25-21, 19-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-10) on Friday night at Moody Coliseum. Oliver, SMU's right-side hitter, finished with a team season-high 24 kills. The junior only totaled 43 attacks and finished with a personal-season best .488 attack percentage. Oliver's performance marks the highest hitting clip this season with over 25 swings for the Mustangs.
THIS WEEK'S ACTION:
Following another 2-0 week, SMU travels to UTEP and UCF in the final road trip of the regular season. This past weekend, the Mustangs received wins this past weekend over East Carolina, 3-0 and Marshall, 3-1. SMU enters this weekend's competitions 20-5 this season and in second place of C-USA with a 12-2 league record.
The Mustangs defeated each of UTEP and UCF in their home matches earlier this season. SMU swept the Miners, 3-0, and defeated the Knights in five sets, 3-2, at Moody Coliseum.
The Ponies enter the weekend on a roll after winning their last four matches. With 21 wins this season, SMU has reached its second-highest highest win total in program history. Only the 2003 team, which finished the season 23-7, has accumulated more wins in a season. This season marks the third season in program history that the Mustangs have gathered 20+ wins.
After this weekend, the Mustangs return home for senior weekend by hosting matches with Houston and Rice. Seniors Kathryn Wilkerson, Kenzie Bukolt and Caitlin Adair will all be honored during Sunday's match. Earlier this season, SMU defeated Rice, 3-1, but fell to Houston the following night.
MUSTANGS INK FOUR: SMU volleyball head coach Lisa Seifert announced the signing of four student-athletes to letters of intent to attend SMU and play for the 2011 Mustang volleyball team. The signees include outside hitters Savannah Myklebust, Caroline Young and Carla Armstrong, and middle blocker Julia Westerbur.
STREAKS AND TRENDS: The Mustangs have won eight of their last nine matches...Jessica Oliver leads the team with 3.53 kills per set and converted on .348 percent of her swings the past five matches...Kelli Becerra has averaged 11.58 assists per set over the past five matches...SMU current ranks No. 55 in the NCAA's RPI.
