Conference USA Track & Field Championships 
ORLANDO, Fla. (SMU) - The SMU track and field team had another victory from Simone Du Toit, this time in the shot put, with a throw of 16.33m, on the final day of competition at the Conference USA Championships in Orlando, which included an hour weather delay during Sunday's action. For the weekend, the Mustangs placed fifth with a score of 76.33 points.
Silje Fjortoft had a top-five finish for the second day in a row, placing fourth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16:33.21.
Mary Alenbratt put up a top-five showing for SMU, finishing third in the 1500m, with a personal-best time of 4:25.00
Amber Evans was a part of two top-ten finishes on the day, earning sixth place in the 200 meter dash, finishing in 24.34 seconds. Later she was a member of the Mustangs' 4x400 relay squad which crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 3:46.40.
Up next for those teams and individuals that qualify, will be the NCAA Regionals from May 28-29 in Austin, Texas. The NCAA Championships will be held in June from the 9-12 in Eugene, Ore.
