Thoughts on tonight's game

"I thought we did some things. They are a very good football team. When you play against that team you got to make plays; when you have chances to make plays. I thought we did some things good on offense and some things not so good. Defensively, I thought we played with energy early; but then they kind of wore us down. They're a good football team. "

Thoughts of Kyle Padron

"He had opportunities. I think he'll be disappointed when he looks at the film. I mean he's a young kid going against the best defense in the country. It's frustrating a little bit obviously for him. He took a lot of hits tonight which is not good but he showed his toughness. So he's tough enough to play against the big boys. Hopefully, as he looks at the he'll just get better and better. I think he gets a little rushed sometimes which is natural to do. At the same time when I think he is trying to [stay in the pocket], then we break down somewhere else. It's a combination of everything to me right now in the passing game. I thought Darius [Johnson] did a really good job again. He's a gamer. The offensive line I thought gave us enough time to do it; we just didn't throw and catch. "

Darius Johnson

Darius in high school was the same way; he made plays. He's a gamer; I just wished we had ways to get him the ball more. We'll reevaluate and do that. He's done a great job this year and he really started off that way last year until he broke his collar bone.

On Zach Line

Over the years he has been the kind of back that has been successful for me and I knew that when we recruited him. He came here both as a running back and line backer when we thought he would back up Ja'Gared [Davis] and Youri [Yenga] and sit on the bench for two years. We don't have enough players that can sit on the bench; we have to get them on the field. So I said we're moving him to running back. I'm glad we did he's got a little inside quickness and he's big enough to block a defensive end if he had to. He's a real physical player.

On TCU regaining the lead in the Third Quarter

I thought that was really the biggest turning point in the game. The crowd was just getting in the game, we're up 17-14 and then it took the wind out of everything; not only the side line but the crowd. The energy of the game kind of disappeared right there. That was a big play. You try to teach the kids - the next play we're all excited about a touchdown, well the next play's the biggest play and you've got to understand that and that certainly was then.
