SMU In Fifth After Day One At David Toms

SHREVEPORT, La. (SMU) - After the first day of the David Toms Intercollegiate held at Southern Trace Country Club, the SMU men's golf team currently sits in a tie for fifth place after carding a 294-291--585. The Mustangs are currently right behind a pair of ranked teams in No. 32 Tulsa and No. 33 LSU.

After shooting a pair of 72's, senior Max Buckley has the team's top day one score. Buckley is currently tied for ninth on the leaderboard at even par.

Marc Sambol and Matt Schovee both shot a two-round score of 3-over and are tied for 20th, while Harry Higgs is one stroke behind his teammates and tied for 26th.

Round three will begin tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
