Final Pre-Qualifying Results

TULSA, Okla. (SMU) - This weekend, the SMU men's tennis team picked up six wins while competing in the pre-qualifying rounds for the 2011 ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Freshman Artus Kazijevs notched three victories on his way to reaching the final round.

Before retiring in the final round against David Holiner of Texas, Kazijevs had a trio of straight-set victories over Leon Nasemann of Memphis, Szymon Tatarczyk of Purdue and Eric West of Oklahoma State.

Also picking up wins for the Mustangs were Tobias Flood, Max Ando-Hirsch and Pablo Perez-Esnaola. Flood and Ando-Hirsch both won three-set matches in the first round, while Perez-Esnaola won his first round match in straight sets.

SMU will be back on the courts on Oct. 7 as they head to Plano, Texas to compete in the Collin County Invitational.
