SMU In Ninth After Day One At Johnnie Imes Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team currently sits in ninth place through two rounds the Johnnie Imes Invitational after shooting a combined 31-over at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
Felicia Espericueta continues to lead the Mustangs, as she has done in the team's previous two tournaments, carding a 145 (+1), three strokes off of the lead. She is currently tied for sixth place.
After shooting 313 in the first round, SMU was able to shoot 19 strokes better in the second round. Espericueta was at the forefront of the improvement as she fired a tournament-low 69 to get back into the hunt for the individual title. The junior shot a 76 in the first round. Jennifer Hooper cut 11 strokes off of her first round 81, to card a 70 in the second round.
The tournament will conclude with third round beginning tomorrow morning.
