Royal Oaks Results 
DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team wrapped up its fall season today at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate. The team jumped up one spot to finish the tournament in 12th place after carding a 279 behind a strong day from Harry Higgs, Max Buckley and Sam Fidone.
Higgs had five birdies on the day to finish with a 68, 3-under par, the team's lowest round of the tournament. Buckley finished the afternoon with four birdies in the final five holes to card a 2-under 69. Higgs ended the tournament tied for 26th place, while Buckley finished tied for 30th.
Freshman Sam Fidone continued to shoot well in final rounds as he shot a one-under 70, despite a pair of bogeys to close out the round.
Both Matt Schovee and Marc Sambol finished just outside the top 50 after shooting 1-over and 2-over respectively in the final round.
The Mustangs will be out of action until the spring season begins in February. The team's first tournament of the spring is the John Burns Intercollegiate in Kahuku, Hawaii on Feb 15-17.
