Box Score vs. TCU 
FORT WORTH, Texas (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team was defeated 5-2 by cross-town rival TCU on Wednesday night at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The loss moves the Mustangs to 16-7 on the season.
The Horned Frogs opened the match by sweeping doubles, marking the first time in nine matches SMU did not win the point. The No. 45 pairing of Emanuel Brighiu and Christopher Price defeated Tobias Flood and Joseph Hattrup 8-5. Paul Chappell and Cameron Nash combined to beat Adham el-Effendi and Darren Walsh 8-5. The No. 88 duo of Artem Baradach and Gaston Cuadranti fell to Zach Nichols and Daniel Sanchez by the same score.
In singles play, Cuadranti turned in another solid performance has he downed Christopher Price 6-4, 6-3. Nowicki also had a strong showing as he won his match 6-3, 6-2 over Slah Mbarek. No. 44 Baradach suffered just his fourth loss on the season as he fell to No. 79 Brighiu 7-6 (10-8), 5-7, 6-4. Walsh played a hard-fought match dropping both sets in tiebreakers 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (20-18). Nichols defeated David Costa 6-3, 6-1, while el-Effendi lost to Soren Goritzka 7-5, 6-3.
SMU closes out the regular season with a match against Rice in Houston on Saturday at 11 a.m.
