Box Score vs. Rice 
TULSA, Okla. (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team fell 4-1 to Rice on Saturday in semifinal action of the Conference USA Men's Tennis Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. With the loss, SMU finishes the season 17-9.
The Mustangs opened competition by earning the doubles point. Adham el-Effendi and Darren Walsh were first to finish as they combined to defeat Christian Saravia and Michael Nuesslein 8-4. Gaston Cuadranti and Artem Baradach locked up the point with an 8-5 win over the No. 70 duo of Peter Frank and Sam Garforth-Bles.
In singles play, the Owls picked up four straight wins to advance to the conference championship. Nuesslein beat Tobias Flood 6-0, 6-2. Garforth-Bles downed Mischa Nowicki 6-4, 6-1, while Saravia earned a 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-4 win over Walsh. No. 47 Baradach lost to No. 108 Harry Fowler 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
