Woodlands All-American Day One 
THE WOODLANDS, Texas (SMU) - Led by Marc Sambol's second round 5-under, 67, the SMU men's golf team moved up three spots after the second round, finishing the day in fourth place after carding a 571--290-281.
After shooting a 71 in the first round, and with his team 2-over par, Sambol ignited the charge for the Mustangs as the team shaved nine strokes off of its first round total. The senior sank seven birdies in the round, bringing his two-round total to 11, tied for the most in the tournament. Sambol is currently tied for third at 6-under par.
Harry Higgs also found himself in the top 15 behind a first-round 70 which the sophomore followed up with a 72.
Despite a tough first round, senior Max Buckley found his stride in the second round, picking up five birdies, including a stretch of three in four holes at No. 12, 13 and 15. Buckley finished the round at 2-under, and tied for 39th at 2-over.
The Mustangs are behind three top 35 teams, including No. 10 Arkansas which leads the tournament at 20-under par. SMU is four shots up on No. 17 Clemson and five ahead of No. 28 Baylor.
Final round action for the Mustangs is slated for the 8:36 a.m. CT, as Sam Fidone will be the first to tee-off. SMU will be playing its round with Clemson and Houston.
