SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The SMU women's golf team wraps up play this fall at the Alamo Invitational, hosted by UTSA, at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club. The 15-team tournament includes another strong field that includes GolfStat's No. 5 Arkansas. Play begins Sunday for the Mustangs when they tee off the opening round with Arkansas and LSU.
SMU participated at the 2013 edition of the Alamo Invitational and finished in 11th. Jenny Haglund had the best individual finish for 13th.

▪ The Alamo Invitational will be held at the par 72, 6,428 yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament begins Sunday and concludes Tuesday. Oklahoma is the defending champion.
▪ This is the third consecutive year SMU has played at the Alamo Invitational. It is the sixth year of the UTSA-hosted tournament.
▪ SMU finished in 11th place at last years Alamo Invitational. At the event, Jenny Haglund shot 2-under for a 13th place finish. Alexandra Rossi (42nd, +5), Katie Page (58th, +9) and Lindsey McCurdy (61st, +10) also carded rounds.
▪ The Mustangs finished in 7th at the 2012-13 Alamo Invitational. Of the current roster, Jenny Haglund had the best finish at 4-over for 28th. Jennifer Park (30th, +5) and Alexandra Rossi (65th, +19) also competed.

Sophomore Evelyn Dole will make her SMU debut at the Alamo Invitational this weekend. Dole, a transfer from Virginia, played in two events as a freshman with her best finished (29th) coming at the Texas A&M Mo-morial.
In addition to Dole, SMU will bring four regulars to the lineup. Senior Jennifer Park will lead the Ponies along with Jenny Haglund, Alexandra Rossi and Lindsey McCurdy. The tournament format will see teams play five and score four.

The SMU women's golf team finished the Betsy Rawls Invitational in fourth place. As a team, the Mustangs shot 36-over (900, 286-313-301) to finish five strokes off co-champions UNLV and Tulane at the University of Texas Golf Club. Jenny Haglund had her third top 10 finish of the year after carding 5-over (221, 70-78-73) for the tournament. She finished tied with four others for sixth place.
Alexandra Rossi took 10th after carding 6-over (222, 66-78-78) for the event. Rossi had the third most birdies over the 54-holes with 10.
McCurdy had her first collegiate top 20 finish at 10-over (226, 74-79-73) for 16th place. Her round began strong with back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth holes. Through the front nine she was 2-under but three bogeys on the back nine left her at 1-over for the round.

SMU enters the Alamo Invitational with a No. 36 ranking in GolfStat's weekly poll, the fifth highest in the field. Arkansas, No. 5, tops the 15-team tournament followed by No. 20 Texas A&M, No. 24 Auburn and No. 27 LSU.
Rounding out the field is No. 40 Tulane, No. 49 Texas, No. 51 Florida State, No. 55 Baylor, No. 56 Texas Tech, No. 62 Houston, No. 77 TCU, No. 80 Oklahoma, No. 94 Texas State and No. 105 UTSA.
