NIGHT ONE RESULTS
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - The SMU women's swimming and diving team posted a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay on night one of the Art Adamson Invitational on the campus of Texas A&M Thursday evening.
Freshman Adrienn Santa, sophomore Marne Erasmus and seniors Nicole Parmenter and Nathalie Lindborg clocked in at 1:32.86 in the event.
In the 500-yard freestyle, sophomore Ursa Bezan earned the top spot in the Consolation Final touching the wall in 4:49.43.
The 200-yard individual medley saw four Mustangs swim during the finals session with senior Rachel Nicol earning the highest finish, a win in the Bonus Final, and posting a 'B' standard time dropping .94 seconds from the preliminary heat. She also dropped 3.11 seconds from her entry time.
Sophomore Kirsty McLauchlan dropped 2.17 seconds from prelims to win the 'D' Final, while junior Anna Volchkov posted a 2:06.31 and sophomore Tara-Lynn Nicholas clocked in at 2:10.00 to round out the Mustang finishers.
Nathalie Lindborg, Erasmus and Santa swam the 50-yard freestyle with Lindborg competing in the Consolation Final and Erasmus and Santa in the 'D' Final.
SMU finished night one with a 10th-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay as Santa, Nicol, Erasmus and Nathalie Lindborg clocked in at 3:41.76.
The Mustangs sit sixth with 58 points at the conclusion of the first evening.
Senior Isabella Arcila also closed out action at the Central American and Caribbean Games as part of a second-place finishing 4x100 freestyle relay team. She also placed fifth in the 'A' Final of the 50-meter freestyle.
